Yes, I have his brother (born of the same litter), as well. I have sent a message to the person we purchased them from, with no response from her, to ask about the other litter mates. The brother has no symptoms, but yes, they do share litter boxes. I will suggest to our vet to treat him, too. Do you think a stool should be checked on him, too, or just go on the medication? I pray that this med treatment works, and he gets better.

The Camphylobacter is spread through the feces so if they are sharing litterboxes I think it's safe to presume that they both have it, and the brother will continue to reinfect the one who is having the issues until both are treated.

I will be calling the vet on Monday to insist that Country be treated, too. Thank you!

Should I ask them to treat our 8 yr old Beagle, too?? I just thought of that. We have been OCD with handwashing after handling the cats, and for sure before any meal prep or eating. I am the only one that scoops the litterboxes, and wear gloves. I just want this to go away, and never come back. And I would love to figure out what I did or didnt' do that caused it, so that it doesn't happen again.

Both dogs and cats can be effected by it so you can probably presume that it can be passed back and forth, but unless the dog is messing with their litterbox I don't know that you would need to worry about it - but that would be a question for your vet.
