Can't we all just get along

I'm surprised it took a year to figure out the dog door... I'd not have given any cat that long before expecting them to get outside! Wow!

I know one owner that tried the dog door with the little thing on the dog's collar to unlock it, thinking that would stop her SV... the SV quickly worked out if he went through the dog door WITH the dog he could escape! LOL!

That's why we enclosed our little backyard so that we could have that dog door for the dog AND the cats... I did have the dog trained to ring a bell at the door when he needed a potty break, but the cats had learned also that this was a signal the door would be opening :-(

Yeah we were shocked it took that long too. We did a wait and see type deal. When he finally did use it we didn't mind taking the panel out. But before that it would have been a bit of an issue as my old dog Sage needed it since she couldn't always hold it in long enough. So the quick exit was good for her. But after her passing we should have probably just removed it. We got lucky he only went to the shed and hung out.

And some days I think we got the umm not so smart Savannah. :big grin: But we don't mind. Means no one getting into the cabinets, opening bathroom doors, stealing things, etc.

And speaking of not getting along.... The two female cats in the house have a morning ritual of a shake down of both my wife and I separately, of annoyingly sitting directly in front of the computer screen meowing, until such time as we dispense the morning treats. And they have learned to count, also.

Give 'em an inch, and the next thing you know, they want to borrow your car and go to Vegas.

That will become a concern when they can figure a way to overcome the lack of an opposable thumb......... Not saying they won't eventually....:cautious:
