Cat Carriers

Unfortunately, you can't take a plastic crate on an airplane. I would like something with wheels that was really secure and flexible. It was so tiring taking my daughter's 20 lb Siberian to Philly. I thought I was going to die and was swearing at the kid under my breath the whole way. I think Paige needs to design something with all her varied and many talents.

Kelly, I was really pleased with the wheeled carrier by Pet Gear I used for the plane trip to Philly. It is well constructed and I wheeled it all over the airport with no problems. I even had a mini-backpack hanging from it with food and water and other emergency supplies. I would not hestitate to put a larger cat in it (the two kittens I had in it probably weighed 15 pounds together). It fit under the plane seat with room to spare, and is made to lie flat for that purpose.

I don't think it is the same. What does yours look like. I found the website but there are various sizes and varieties. I am not going to do one without wheels again on a plane.

This is the one I have:

It also has a divider; top and bottom for 2 puppies or kittens, although I did not use it that way. I can't recommend this one enough! I found another one just like it at my T.J. Maxx store for $30....can never have enough carriers! Ebay has some good deals, too, but I would go with their best model, haven't tried the lower end ones, although I'm sure they would be fine for "regular" cats lol

I just use a plastic dog crate. All 3 of my pets use the same crate. Coco uses it at home for needing to be confined, and Solo/Kronos are put in it when its time to see the vet. No problems with it yet!

Yeah, the plastic crates are great and I have two of them...don't ask me why I keep spending money on all the fancy ones

I want one that can double as a back pack...am going to look at the ones Pam recommended and B recommended.

as for designing one? I'm not sure it is within my scope of design, but thanks just the same...

Zuri had her first trip to the vet in her sleepy pod today...I actually really like it...she cannot get out of it and she cannot bite her way out of it, which is what she did with the Sturdi (among other things). I put it out for her to use as a bed, so she was used to it and then scooped her up and brought her to the vet.

Taj would never fit in it though, so once again, Zuri is very spoiled...seems like the only girl gets over on all the boys ;)

Bwahahaha- I never THOUGHT about that, Kelly! Heck yeah, the big guys would be horrible to lug! Wasn't the hotel far from the show hall too?

Plus, when you are going to shows- the plastic crates don't tend to cut it. Most of us are taking more then one cat- so something with wheels is a big plus!

I just want wheels and something I can carry if I need to...but then again, Zuri is a lightweight and taj does not travel, so I don't worry about carrying him around ;)
