Cat Tricks

I appreciated every picture =). So in other news and Trish don't be too upset. Abu got out today as I was leaving and Zeus was in the hall on the otherside of the door (they play patty paw under the door often). I digress. I figured I would see what happened between the two.

They hit it off amazingly, no growling, no nothing, almost as if they already were best buds. Of course within 30 seconds there was a wrestling match going on, but was just typical cats playing. I'M SO HAPPY THEY GET ALONG! I split them up after 5 mins or so.

I will do my best to honor the quarantine for the next few days until the two weeks are up. I do feel Abu is pretty strongly bonded to me already, I've spent every night with him and almost all waking moments with him I could. He is constantly by my side if not in my lap. He sleeps with me at night. And he certainly recognizes I'm the hand that feeds him ... so thinking not too much harm done.

I'M JUST ESTATIC THEY ARE FRIENDS AND MAYBE THERE WILL BE PEACH IN MY HOUSE AS ZEUS WON'T START THINGS WITH THE GRUMPY OLE FARTS (my two domestics) ANY MORE !!!!

Well a few more days quarantine and then we shall see how Abu does with the grumpy ole farts, and misty my dog.
I'm afraid someone is in need of a spanking.

ROFL.

It happens, Rob- it happens :) I am glad it sounds like they will be best buds too!

I'm trying to clicker train Titus! Has anyone else used the clicker method?? I need to train myself to use it more consistently tho... But so far he comes when I call him(emphasis on i, he ignores everyone else lol), he jumps on whatever i point to, and he can play half a game of fetch. Half being he loves to chase it, but only sometimes brings it back. He picks up on other things quickly too though, like "Get DOWN!" or "NO!" ;)

I have used clicker training and while it works, I like just having the cat do tricks on command...but that is me. Clicker training works as well...

Isn't the goal of clicker training to eventually use commands instead once they are trained? Do I have this wrong?

I think some always use the clicker, although I do believe you can eventually train to respond without it - it's been a long time since I've done any clicker training (I had a non-responder) so can't really remember.

Okay, thanks! I was under the impression that it was only for training, and once trained it isn't needed anymore. Shows how much I know.

I'm so excited, Shelby learned his first trick and at only 16 weeks! It was the biggest trick that I wanted to teach him and I thought would be the hardest, but nope, it turned out to be his first! Sorry for the bad angle, I promise it's not pornographic hahahha I just set my phone on the ground so I could capture it.
