Being asthmatic AND allergic to cats, removing the carpet was the best thing we did here! But the crap that we found underneath the carpeting even after regular steam cleaning was enough to turn me off the idea forever.

Rugs can deliver much of the appeal of carpeting but more cleanable and more replaceable when there is damage to them...

This was the impetus for the central vacuuming system and the hard wood floor in the one room as my eldest son has this problem. Really helped.
