Mine doesn't like cat nip however strawberries, carrots, Matt's sweaty mountain biking clothes, are over the top enjoyment with the stinky clothes being top of the chart.

Stinky socks are the hands-down favorite here. Why can't my cats be normal, and like catnip, instead? lol

Yeah, so why can't they like something that smells nice?! So my dogs like to roll in dead-things and my cats roll in sweating clothing. sigh.

What I've read about catnip is not all cats will react to catnip, they have to inherit the gene responsible and so roughly one in three cats do not react to it. Kittens also rarely react to catnip, they normally have to reach sexual maturity (6 months of age) before they start to react. I know some people also suggest Valerian Root which is a natural product which is used in some sleeping aids for humans. It is also a cat attractant similar to catnip and has a very similar effect. Unlike catnip Valerian does not need the cat to have inherited a specific gene in order to react, so cats which do not react to catnip will normally react to Valerian. Or so I've read. lol I have yet to test Valerian out. But our cats don't really go nuts with catnip. So thinking of trying so Valerian. :)

Dried catnip and all 3 or mine are in the flip out zone. Bella even more so.
The Boys don't care for fresh But Bella likes it.
I think on one of the cat shows they said that younger kittens tend to not be
as interested in the nip as older cats. I have not seen this The boys got here
at about 4 Mo old and loved it then and still go crazy. I got Bella at about
20 Mo and when she gets the idea I am getting it out I have a slobbering
monster on my hands. Last night she even sat in my lat and she never does that.
Her face was in the jug. Very funny to see.
