Bengals, savannahs, paper...good combination! Try collecting newspapers in one place (forget stacking, that doesn´t even last a minute) and they will immediately start migrating all over the floor and develop mysterious holes in the pages. Must be the feel and sound, our cats love chewing on them and on cardboard boxes (and iPhone charging cables...).

LOL, Per! Yep, cardboard boxes are another bad habit :) But only Zuri has this habit - Taj does not...and I'm not sure this is savannah-specific...I'm thinking that certain cats just have this fetish...

I think that most of what our Savannahs do is general cat behavior, just our breed tends towards those behavioral traits more. I think that is what choosing a breed is about, being able to choose a breed to be more likely to get a certain type of pet. A random-bred domestic shorthair can be energetic, crazy and love water (I had a DSH called Wasabi that fit that criteria and she was spotted too!) but you can't take any DSH kitten and hope to get that type of cat...

Aren't I all philosophical today? LOL!

You aree very philosophical today, Brigitte :) And I love the name Wasabi!i think our breed is so special and I cannot imagine life without my savannah's...but as you said, many moggies have similar inclinations, just not as strong and pronounced as the Savannah cat.

Wasabi was our DSH directly before we got our first Savannahs. She was named that for her personality, she was a definite head rush!

She was insane about door darting... we worked hard to keep her indoors but during a party someone let the door ajar for a moment and she was out like a flash. A half hour later the doorbell rang, a guy was carrying Wasabi and she was dead. She'd run in front of his car and he wasn't able to avoid her. I was simply thankful that he stopped and looked for her collar tag and brought her home. So I didn't search and worry longer. I was devastated of course but couldn't blame the poor guy, he was so upset.

Our front door is now a double entry way, and the back door goes into the backyard enclosure...
