My jackets are adjustable with a locking nylon strap and Velcro. You first Velcro it to the size than the strap is adjusted and hooked so they in it pretty good. I have had Loki on a dead run with a 25 foot lead start and he was stopped in his tracks. It is almost like a straightjacket haha.

The danger with your typical walking jackets is when the cat spooks and tries to back out of them - if they are not secure it is usually not difficult for a cat to slip right out of them.

I tried my idea with the SD card attached it in a see through pocket along with the micro chip info. Worked PERFECT! I feel so much better with all my kitty's information is available immediately! We are on a trip as I write this and my stress level is not what it would of been before I came up with this idea.

Just last night when we went out for a walk with Loki and Isis we ran into a loose and no were to be found owner of a fat min pin dog. I wish I had the camera but Loki and Isis went into hunt mode and started stalking the dog. Isis tries very hard to back out of the jacket and whips side to side and jumps up while pulling the whole time but she could not get out thank goodness. Isis was my test subject for my jackets she has a very small head. I am glad that I worked the backing out part of the jackets. The neck style of the jacket and where you place the D ring makes a big difference to close to the head and it helps them out of the jacket. Move it back on the back and it puts a little pressure behind the front legs and the jacket bends with the cat to hold them in. Having SVs and trying to keep our babies safe whenever possible and find ways to do that takes being smarter than them that much harder. Everything has to be made stronger and more durable to withstand the Savannah's high energy. I just finished a cat tree for the bathroom since you can't go anywhere without them coming along all the time bless their little hearts. I just wish they would stay out of the running water.

I made one to hold a tracking device earlier this year. It's a pocket (customer specs) on the top with a velcro closure. Looks like the fur kids had a blast opening their gifts!

Wow Kurt, that's great that you worked out the mechanics of how they manage to back out of the walking jackets, and were able to correct it to keep them safe and secure - and such an easy remedy in retrospect!

For me the old saying would be"desperation is the root of invention"! Ha ha I also plan as my kitty ventures in larger circles on our walking time in the yard going to take along a badminton racquet like the dog whisper. May not be an arsenal but something for those times that stray dog happens along. Maybe just the sight of having something in your hand would be enough for the stray to venture a different direction. Certainly worth the effort, in my opinion. Happy trails everyone.

This state has a leash law for dogs off their owners property, if you walk a cat on a leash and a dog attacks your cat, the cat only has a few feet of leash to defend it's self and the cat will have 2 choices , stand it's ground or run to high ground and that maybe the top of your head for the leash cat , mace spray will stop any dog attack and save the life of your cat so in my opinion
