Doesn't sound like FIP to me, Breanna! I am so happy Keljin is doing much better...doesn't sound like Bartonella either...did the bloodwork come back yet?

Thanks Deborah, I am hoping the same!
Paige, I agree I really hope its bacterial especially to be so fast of a flareup (literally overnight). And no, no bloodwork results yet. At work my sister sits next to the husband of my vet, so he was asking and she said FIP is the bottom of her list. Hopefully I will hear back soon!

It really irks me that vets always throw FIP in the ring when they don't know what is going on. Arghh! His conditions do NOT sound like FIP at all to me. If he had lost a ton of weight and then started showing neurological issues then maybe dry FIP could be considered, but based on what you have shared, that would simply not even be anywhere on my list of issues so please don't stress that he has a death sentence.

It sounds like an injury, bacteria or virus. Wonder what they are hoping to see in a blood panel, did they give you any indications? Dang it that they didn't get some of the tears from his eye to send off for culture.

Hope the drops continue to help him and that it's a one time problem!

My F7 girl got nailed in the eye by somebody and acted very much like this. The sudden onset sounds like an injury. Get an animal ophthalmologist asap- you can't wait around on eye issues! Most vets don't have the tools to properly diagnose an eye problem and its severity. Good luck there.

I finally got a call back last night, and the blood work shows Keljin's protein levels and blood cell counts are normal. So FIP out of the question.

There were no scratches or ulcers on the surface, so it was not injury related either. At this point our bet is on bacterial, either way the same meds are the right treatment and I already notice he has improved. The cloud in his left eye is shrinking already and he is behaving like his normal savannah self! I tried taking pics to show you guys, but its really hard to capture in the right light, and with a squirmy lil guy :( lol
