Cloudy Eye

Thanks everyone for the positive comments and thoughts :)

At this point the cloud has reduced to just a small brownish squiggly goop looking thing in just the bottom instead of all over the whole eye, so it has gone from 100% down to maybe 20% covered. He still has a weird glare over the eye though and I am not sure how long that will take to go away. I will be following up with the vet later this week for another checkup.

Yay! That's great news, Bre! The weird things these cats do or get into.....;)

Hope Keljin's recovery is swift and complete!

What would cause a cats pupil to not dilate up or down (big or small) with lighting changes?
Just curious.

It could be a number of things. Is it one or both eyes? Are the pupils fixed in the dilated or constricted state? There are diseases which can affect the muscles which allow the iris to function properly. Or it could be trauma to the optic nerve. Are there any other symptoms like pain, swelling, tearing, discharge, etc.? It's definately something that a vet needs to check.

its only one eye. his left. it just never constricts all the way down to a sliver. nor does it dilate all the way out. no discharge or anything. no pain.

My snow Bintu has aqua colored eyes and has trouble when she is out in the sun. When she gets her outside time I wait for the sun to go down abit. I have trained all three SV's to stay in the back yard out back in the yard and roam around but boy do they know what time that is every day thats why they are at the back door.

Sounds a little like anisocoria (unequal pupils) to me. There can be many reasons for this, but he would need to be seen by a vet to get a definitive diagnosis.

Doesn't sound like anything serious, Suzanne, but I'm thinking a vet would probably be the right person to diagnosis as Susan has mentioned.

I've watched his behavior now for quite some time. it seems to only bother him when there is too much play with light and shadows. he misjudged heights of things and he would crash and burn. he has never seemed to be in pain or that it bothered him in any other way. However, I have an appointment for Thursday.
