Considering buying an F1 kitten - does anyone know this breeder?

Thanks Trish, that provided some insight, which is what I was looking for.
I talked to my breeder when I picked up the various kittens and was curios as to how they were quite successful in predicting behaviors and traits. Yes there are the exceptions, but they seem to have consistent results. From most of the responses from the breeders on this site, I am confident they are all actively pursuing excellence in not only looks but personality, of which I feel both are progressing very well with time.
I've had some wonderful DSH's over the years (and still have one!) but these savannahs are in a league of their own!

Hey RD...I met Shelby's serval and f1's and you cannot get more social Gotta love 'em! Fatboy (serval) did not know me and never a hiss out of him...F1's....awesome, friendly, and treated me as if I was part of the family

I really think for our breed, it is the lower generation breeders who need to really keep an eye on personality/temperament in their own lines in order to ensure our breed remains very successful. JMHO.

Precisely. I hope this is the standard operating procedure for the breed.

I think that personality and socialization are most definitely a priority for most good breeders. Especially those that show, the act of showing a cat proves how important it is to have a well-socialized kitten and select for that. You can't show a freaky, reactive kitty... you need them to be confident and outgoing and interactive with humans. A few early mistakes in purchasing breeding/show kittens showed me how important it was to select a breeder that also valued temperament.

Paige my babies know a cat person;>) Fat Boy says you only need one of three things to be on the headbutt list....mice, deer meat or shrimp. Yep...my baby is food motivated. With all those goodies you purchased to take home with you...he would have helped you with the driving on your way home!LOL

Speaking for myself...I think most breeders have the same priorities. I think the personalities are inborn...the socialization is learned from the mother and the human mothers and dads. A work in progress from the moment they are born;>)
