This is interesting! When i was looking for a kitten i DREADED calling. It feels like i'm being a bother! I finally sucked it up and called to ask about a gorgeous kitten i saw available. Which, ironically, is how i ended up fully securing my kitten(she had gotten DOZENS of emails, but i was the first call!!) Even now i feel crazy calling my breeder to ask about Titus. And she much rather prefers to talk on the phone and is always prompting me to call her more instead of sending e-mails... Its probably all people's preference for communication though! As a pretty young whipper-snapper, i think i do way too much on the computer.

This is interesting to read everyones posts on this topic. I for one actually list my phone number, always have, and prefer phone calls. If it is bad timing I just do not answer, and if they don't even bother to leave a message they weren't very interested anyway. I always return phone calls as soon as possible. I prefer to talk with people and really be able to get a feel for what would be best for them, what they are really looking for in a pet, and if possibly I have anything that fits their needs. You get to ask a lot of questions, and build a nice repoire with people. I just do not deal well with lengthy emails and would much rather answer all those questions on the phone than to have to write a huge letter in response, of which I have done many times and in the end don't even get a thank you for the time it took me to write it! As for the short emails that just say "How much r u cats?" I do not even respond. If they cannot pick up the phone and call or even let me know what generation kitten they are looking for, or asking about a particular kitten on my website then they don't deserve a response.
