Thanks. I'm in Daytona Beach, Fl. I've never noticed any hair. Wouldn't an X-ray show if there were a large hairball? She does groom a little bit every day and sometimes her and her sister groom eachother, but I wouldn't say it's excessive...

I would think an X-ray would show a hairball that is too big to pass, so pursuing asthma or an allergy, and the URI PCR is worthwhile for your kitty....in the meantime, you might consider what sort of household cleaners you use; even perfumes or essential oils can cause asthma or allergies in animals. Cigarette smoke, candles, plug-in air fresheners...these are all notorious for causing allergies as well as dust or pollen.

On my way to the vet to get a short term acting steroid shot for Isabis since she is having another hard time breathing. I'm administering it myself so she can relax at home. The vet said he wants to rule out hypertrophic cardio myopathy, since he said the shape of her heart suggests she may have it in her X-ray, before prescribing a steroid treatment plan because that'd make her heart worse. I'm hoping and praying that isn't what she has. He said there's a chance she might not have it and to not get too upset. I'm going to schedule to get her heart sonogram to cancel out or confirm that diagnoses. Please pray for her. I really really think it is asthma though. I moved in to my place last October, it is on the beach in fl so its very humid and I'm thinking it might be mildew or something. There was a slight smell that my mom who is a realtor told menot to worry about it and it wasn't that bad when I moved in. Anyways please keep Isabis in your prayers.

Hi there,
My cat Napoleon has been coughing.... at first I thought it was fur-ball related but he never actually coughs anything up, just gets low to the ground and does this coughing/wheezing noise. Will need to take him to vet but does this sound familiar to anyone?
