Sean, it can be controlled very well and the cat to live a normal life.
I had a cat live more than 5 years post diagnosis and passed on due to old age. Had perfect fructosamine levels the entire time and managed with just Lantus. The cat actually expected the shot every morning without a fuss.

Well Sean, it looks like the powers that be chose Mokkun for you for a reason. I am sure that you will attune to his disease and his symptoms quickly.

What is his current diet?

Good morning I think. Way too early for me to be up but the cat comes first.
What is a little sleep loss??? Mokkun sees more like his normal self in that
he was much harder to syringe force feed. But he still got his food. Well most
of it anyway went in his mouth. Got to get ready for the trip back to the
vet here in a little bit for his day #2 visit so they can keep an eye on him and
give him any added support he may need.

We will be doing a little owner training to get me up to speed on cat
treatment and what not.

I'll report back later today.
Thank you all for the help.

Right now it's just get anything into him to keep him out of fatty liver status. I fear that
he was part way into that status but he is getting food one way or the other. The other
tends to be a little messy with the syringe.

I have had a cat with diabetes... He was managed well on insulin And lived to be 15... Let me know if you have any questions.

Hi Sean.... If the blood sugar is low, the cat usually seems weak... At that point, you can put a bit of corn or karo syrup on the gums and then get to the vet. But I would assume you will be testing Mokkhun, so hopefully there will not be many emergencies.

I lost my boy today.
The vet things from the way things happened that there is likely
a high probability that Mokkun had some sort of cancer. She check
the sugar and he was down into the lower 200 and the support he was
getting should of had him back to a stable state.

Now to help Bella adjust to being the only cat. She has always been in a home with
at least one other cat so I don't know what will happen.

Thanks for all the help and support.

Whaaaat?! Oh my gosh Sean, I feel so sad for you. I'm so so sorry about Mokkun. Losing two fur babies in such a short time is devastating. Sending gentle hugs.

Thank You everyone.

I had to back up to the vet's office to settle the bill.
When I got home even though mom was there Bella
was waiting at the door for me and has been like a lost
puppy tagging along behind me. I think for tonight
she can sleep with me as they all did that from time to
time. So it not a totally new thing.
