Dooley at the emergency vet

Greeted this evening with the first head butt in a week. Dooley's still pretty tired, but his brother is leaping and frollicking without looking forlorn. Glad our buddy is on the mend! He was also carrying around his new virtually indestructible toy, but I'll save that for another thread.

As always, thanks for the thoughts and prayers, they seem to work wonders!

Unfortunately it's a scare partially of my own making. I was very much convinced this was a result of the cardboard Dooley ingested Friday night/Saturday morning and not pooping. I'm also not partial to the emergency vet care so I waited for an appointment with our regular vet. In the end, nothing had anything to do with the cardboard, and I should have got him in earlier than I did.

I won't let it happen again!

Ok, Dooley is having breathing problems again this morning as the temperature climbs into the 60s. I have isolated him in a room on the second floor and he seems to be doing much better.

Our current home is very close to a large wooded area and because of how the cliffs and the banks of the river are, we are at the exit point for the predominate winds. Additionally our neighbor is somewhat of an earth pig with a waterless lawn filled with currently wet mulch and bark. Additionally, they have a few compost bins which I'm sure are just oozing with all kinds of mold spores.

Anyway we are shortly off to the vet and unsure of where we go from here.

Oh no. :( Praying that the vet can get his breathing more comfortable for him and a treatment plan to keep him breathing easy.

I'm not going to try and guess what's up, as I was already wrong once. Last year same sort of symptoms and it took 3 different vet visits to get it right, and the specialist changed directions after the test results rolled in.

Anyway, he's spending the night at the emergency center and will get all checked out in the morning.

I'm glad he's under observation and hope they can get him stable now... poor Dooley :-(
