Dooley still challenged

Great news! Fingers crossed that he continues to improve and that syringe pieces are easily retrieved.

Thanks much and thanks for laying out Rafiki's struggles! It was instrumental in me being able to lay out a baseline of care. The two things I wanted to be certain that were taken care of and the least invasive were oxygen and fluids. As long as they got those two things covered, I was sure whatever else followed would be aimed at the underlying issue.

Also just to note Dooley could barely stand this morning and he woke me up at 5am when haphazardly entered his litter box. He hadn't eaten on his own since Tuesday evening. Despite our best efforts, and moments where he looked to be improving, it's always best to err on the side of caution, getting them to the vet early. We lucked out,

Dooley regressed again overnight, lethargic and still anorexic. Ultrasounds soon and from optimistic to seriously worried in a phone call. They said they don't think they'll need to anesthetize him which really causes me concern.

Thanks Rafiki!

While all this has been trying, it's provided an opportunity to give Dino plenty of me time. He was able to sleep with me since I wasn't locked down with Dooley and we were able to play some old games that are different or don't work when Dooley is around. Of course we all miss him, which makes Dino plenty needy and certainly leaves Trish with a heavy heart as her and Dooley are besties!

Thanks again for the thoughts and prayers.

Dooley is scheduled for surgery this afternoon to remove the fluid build up and collect biopsy info on the involved organs. He is not responding to any of the treatments for pancreatitis and the Doctors thought was they could have a more complete picture of things and better evacuate the fluid build up with surgery as opposed to just scoping him.

I hope he has the strength to pull through.
