Dooley still challenged

Yes,I am currently back home.

Waiting for the other vet to call us back, as the emergency facility just told us we need to decide who's care Dooley will be under. I understand the need to do this, just really don't want to pull him off the oxygen for an hour drive.

John,

Since none of the vets thus far have been able to come up with a concrete diagnosis, I wouldn't choose any of them. Isn't Ohio State accessible to you? If it were me, I would be on my way to a facility with up to date equipment and knowledge in an effort to save the life of my cat. And I would not consider taking him back to your house until you move into your new place. Something is not adding up here.

Dooley has been challenged with multiple issues. There are many more details than I have been able to post and we have done our best to assure he is under good care. Thus far he has seen a cardiologist, had full panel blood tests ran, a tracheal wash, and allergy tests of which we are awaiting results.

Right now he is in critical condition and I just want to do what's right for Dooley. I have reservations transporting him an hour away, let alone the several hours it would take to get him to Columbus.

Right now my primary concern is getting him stable so we can make longer term care decisions.

Agreed Paige.

His urgent care needs have prevented him from undergoing one of the tests that was suggested and along the way he has had what appeared to be positive responses to treatment.

There has been no coughing, sneezing, runny noses or watering eyes. Just rapid breathing when he's showing symptoms.

:( I'm so sorry John. Praying hard for Dooley and to finding the right answers and treatment. Something is for sure not adding up. Maybe you should think about having him stay somewhere else when he's released. Another family member or friend? I worry something in that house is a large factor.

I am so glad that you are home at least. I know what it was like for me last year when Rafiki took a turn for the worst and I was in Montreal. Feeling helpless and far away is hideous. I think that we all suspect that your current living quarters is a contributing factor. For whatever it is worth, we are all here for you and praying for Dooley.
