Carl, you cannot show F1's or F2's and Elite or Supreme is just a marketing tool to take more of your money IMO!

I agree .

I love my elite savannha Romeo and Bengal Toby because they are my baby's .

Elite could also be in the mind if marketing more sales and higher prices too.

I spend more money on the vet and the Bengal and SV food then the purchase of the kittens.

Love is Elite

I guess you could say that since they aren't show eligible and not breeder eligible (being male F1s and F2s I would guess), elite is a good term to indicate that all the good stuff is in one package. Sort of like a super well bred gelding with good bloodlines. It is a gelding and has no value to pass on the genetic material but still makes it look more awesome.

I just don't know why people would pay almost 20,000 for a F1, when there are breeders out there that sell them for alot less.....around 6000 or 7000 and they are no different....

Thanks for the reply... What I am looking for in a kitten is a talker, trainable, and loveable... I want a kitten that will do crazy things and keep me wonder what is next. Where I do like the spots, ears, and facial expressions, I am primarily looking for a pet for me. My family is myself and my dog, and was Sylvester who was a great fantastic tabby that actually made phone calls and would talk to who ever answered... and I mean it just the way stated... He talked on the phone... Once he called one of my customers. She said hello, and he said "Meow", she said hello, and he said "Meow", and then my wife at the time answered the phone... He actually redialed my customer and sat down to talk to her.... Where I want a very smart talkative Savannah, I do not necessarily want one that will take my cell phone and call people :)
A F3 should do! Many of us have to put up with these behaviors!:big grin:
Oh, plan on a 12 digit security code for your phone.

I love my supreme savannah cats and kittens ;)

Seriously, guys...there will always be one or more kittens in a litter that stand out...and I suppose we could all start calling them supremes or elites :p Since my Zuri is from one of the large breeders, I can honestly say I don't buy the elite or supreme BS...however, this is still a free country (sort of), so anyone can use any term they wish for marketing purposes. It is up to the buyer to do their homework...and if you happen to fall in love with a supreme or elite and have an excess of cash, go for it!

I think what everyone also has to remember is that breeders have many expenses in raising kittens and depending on the lines, how close the kitten is to the standard, etc., determines pricing...

F1s are not "show cats" because they are not show eligible. To be a bonafide show cat a Savannah has to be SBT registered, hence F4 or further.

Definitely there are some very expensive Savannahs priced out there for those that are willing to pay for it.... and you are probably right that it is the markings that have lead that breeder to price it higher. Which is funny, as in terms of showing the pattern is not as important as features such as the ears or eye shape or length of leg...
