My savannahs are hooked on my hair ties. Only the ones I have used tho. They will always find them no matter where I hide them. That is about it. Well, Sirius does an obsession with a grey shoe string he carries around the house like a blanket.

Bintu loves plastic all types bags, ribons and storage boxes. Tiger loves plastic binder springs and plastic trees and flowers. Loki loves to chew on the corners of the plastic boxes water bowls and they all love HAIR CLIPS I find the dead hair clips laying in every room when I come home.

Unfortunatley, things like plastic bags just need to be kept away. Certain cats do also like certain fabrics to chew on. I have a really nice very fuzzy and warm throw that my brother got me for Christmas a few years ago and there are 50 cent piece holes in it...alot of them...... some of my girls like to sit and chew every once in a while. When possible, and depending on the item, one thing that works really really well is to take a bar of soap and rub it all over the item, especially electrical cords as once they get soap in their mouth they will not go back to it. Soap does taste pretty yucky!!!! Just be very careful, plastic bags are the worst with Savannahs!

My 2 year old F1 spayed female LOVES to chew any thing covered in plastic
Ziploc bags are top on the target list. Why does she do this and how do I discourage it?
Water spray bottle is useless she likes that too.
The one plus is she does not chew cords.
I just don't want to have the vet need to remove the plastic from her gut

I don't have this problem with the 2 neutered males they are about 1 1/2 years old.

Thanks
Sean
Unfortunately there must be something in the smell, or maybe the texture that draws them to plastic. FatBoy could have a steak at one end of the table and a plastic bag at the other...he wouls eat the bag first;>( You must make a habit of not leaving plastic of any kind out. They have no idea it can kill them, but we as humans do;>)
