Triton is Romeo's half brother! They share the same sire. Isn't Lady Merryn the mother of Lady Delta Force? Triton is doing well, thank you! Color me slow, but I'm not sure what HCM is...I sure hope it's nothing fatal!

HCM is the most common heart disease in cats, and yes it is fatal... but with early diagnosis and medications and management many cats live a quality life for some years. Hopefully Romeo will respond well to the meds.

Studies have shown some breeds have greater incidence of HCM, and some of the many genes involved in HCM have been found...but not all. We know that Bengals for example have some lines with HCM...

It's important to know that most cases are only diagnosed after heart failure or death... cats are great at hiding symptoms. Not all cases present as a heart murmur either, so will not be detected in a routine health exam when the vet listens to the heart.
