AH HAH, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT, I KNEW IT. My Juba Kai is from there. I can spot an Avalon SV nearly every time. Juba is out of Willow & Juma. He's the one in the middle in my avatar. Julia's cats are spectacular.
That's where Echo was born also according to the lady I acquired him from. How funny that there are 3 of us here with her cats.

MasternMargo, you will love it here.

Laura...I didn't have a contract with Julia that stipulated that cats could not be transferred to another without her knowledge. She may or may not have had such a contingency with Echo's original owner. Julia would probably be grateful to know he has a new momma, especially since you are so wonderful for working with him. She may also have valuable insight to give about him. If you haven't already done so, you should feel free to contact her. She has a big heart and is always eager to hear how her cats are doing. I still send her updates about Juba and he's 4 yrs. old. If you decide to contact her, tell her Juba's mom sent you.

I will contact her. I don't think the gal I got him from was completely honest with me. They claimed he had some issues that we have never had with him. I still think something was done that made him so distrustful. I know some cats are just skittish, but cats generally aren't as scared as he is without reason.

Oh I'm so glad you're doing that! She will be heartbroken that he may not have been treated well in his first home and relieved he has a doting mom now. She will also beat herself up for misjudging Echo's first owners. We emailed and talked on the phone extensively before I got Juba and she still made me fly down to pick him up so she could check me out in person.

I think most breeders like to know what becomes of their kittens. As kids, my family bred AKC Pomeranians, Belgian Sheepdogs and Pugs, (at different times of course!) and we always enjoyed hearing from their forever homes. Most responsible breeders do. Lord knows we never made any money to speak of after vet bills and everything else that goes into caring for them! :dog:

I wonder what were those problems that previous owner mentioned? Our cats are very skittish to this day, and they are almost 2 y.o., but I think it's just kinda funny, that's all.

She said he had inappropriate elimination, he always uses his kitty box and has never had even an accident. Simple, just keep it clean. He would urinate on he boyfriends stuff. That is usually because they don't like that person. Echo is much more fearful of men than women, that with the urinating on boyfriends stuff, which probably ticked him off and he reacted towards Echo, is probably the fear of men. She was pregnant and they were afraid he would hurt the baby. I am the only person Echo will approach and she said he always hid when people came over, but never gave him a safety zone to go to. Her 3 dogs were allowed to chase him, so of course he's afraid of our dogs.
