Hi, your SV is a F5 SBT? I was just wondering because we are getting two, and want to be able to take them camping, and I was curious if yours did well!

Thanks,

S+K

He is very adventurous I know it varies from kitty to kitty but the breeder I got him from harness trained him for me. And were very hands on. He was 16weeks old which to me seemed like a late start. They did a very good job on starting to train him for me. I made a point to constantly change his environment within his comfort zone so that he doesn't settle in too much so that he only stays indoors. We go on car rides and trips to the park. Go for "walks" he still isn't the best at walking but were working on it he just kinda lets me follow him at this point haha. This trip he rode in with me on the 4 wheeler and did very good very calm as long as I reassured him I was there. He explored for a bit then chilled by the fire in his chair. I definately feel it comes down to the personality of the cat and how he is raised. If you get him used to changing the scenery but not go so far as to frighten him give plenty of postitive reinforcement I think they will do great. Just don't push them too far out of their comfort zone

Just make sure the immunizations are all finished first, pay attention to hawks etc to make sure they aren't in danger at all. And if you're lucky enough to have a breeder go the extra mile to help get used to harness all the better

Bekki, I know that 16 weeks seems "a late start" but it's really good for the kitten. At that age I find the kittens are so much more outgoing and adaptable that they transition to a new home so much easier. And I think that you saw the benefit of that, and a breeder that did a good job socializing of course. And then you obviously continued the good work as socializing doesn't stop when they leave the breeder's home!

I agree with you that it also comes down to individual personalities which is why it is so important to find a good breeder whose opinion you can trust as you need them to be sharing what they are learning about each kitten's personality to help you choose :)

That makes sense t 16weeks it's like toddlerhood the world isn't so big and scary as it was. Things just start to get interesting. Curiosity grows. That mischievous savannah dark side starts to shine through lol. Very good point Bridgette =]

Loki all tuckered out after another big meal and play time. I think he's claimed the best thrown in the house. Right where the breeze from the fans are and near the ac. I don't know how much mfr content he could get

He was pretty settled in until he realized I was going to bed where my ac is.. Nice and cool in here. So he raced me to the room and laid down in my spot on the bed... Again. Little stinker always steals my seat on the couch and on my bed lol.
