I hope it works out for your friend. That said, when the ad first came out, this kitten's "rehoming fee" was $1500...his original price from the breeder. The fact this kitten will not come with a guarantee of any sort is a bit scary for that amount of money. I'd definitely recommend if your friend purchases this kitten, she take him in for a health check by her vet, and if that can be arranged before a possible sale...all the better. She should ask to see his vet records from the ad poster, too.
Good advice, Pam, people often assume that a CL ad will be a cheaper kitten/cat and that's surprisingly not always the case.
And without any guarantee, the kitten simply is not worth nearly as much. The kitten looks healthy in the pictures, but when buying via CL you just can't know what you will get...

Hopefully...if Cbain's friend contacts this person the price will be much more in line....I would think they would realize he has been offered for sale for 4 or 5 months now and no one will pay breeder price for him without any guarantees....

Thanks again Pam, I am glad I took this here and I like your advice , my friend works as a waitress and has 3 Siamese cats and hoped to get a deal on a older savannah kitten that she could afford but at $ 1500. and no guarantee this is no deal, I will have her watch breeder sites for older savannahs that she can afford.

I don't think it would hurt for your friend to offer less, armed with the info you have learned here.....
