For Those Who Feed Raw...

I am too lazy to grind my own, but I have been curious in trying raw. This past week I have been feeding Keljin 1-2 medallions per day of Natures Variety/Instinct Raw chicken medallions, he loooves it and purrs the whole time he eats. His coat already feels smoother, and the poop seems nicer too :)

I tried giving some to Winry too, but she was totally uninterested and won't even try it (even though ferrets are carnivores too, and are okay to eat any cat/kitten foods out there) Oh well, that just leaves more for Keljin to eat instead ;)

Anyways here is the link of what I started feeding. Should I worry about getting Keljin any vitamins or supplements in addition? It is a formula instead of straight up plain meat so I was thinking I shouldn't have to... The nutritional information looks sound to me, but hey I am no expert and I'm not sure if there is anything missing.

This is exactly what I am feeding Coco. Solo also really like these and I get them in Rabbit, although yesterday Solo he turned his nose up to it.... I think he is slowly becoming addicted to regular wet food. I have a special urinary formula of canned wet food for him and that is his absolute favorite. I don't feed this stuff to Kronos though because his bowels are so sensitive. He has been on the same dry food now for probably 4 or 5 months and although his poop overall is better and he doesn't bleed anymore, it still is not always perfect and super hard.

There is very little Taurine in that food, so you may need to supplement, if that is the only food you are feeding...you can get something like Mazuri or TC Feline to add in.

Alicia, Kronos' stools are probably very hard because of the dry...can you mix a bit of wet or raw with the dry...slowly?

You mean "not very hard" right? In the past I have tried different foods for him and then he gets explosive diarrhea, even if I mix it in a tiny bit at a time. He has the most sensitive gut ever, and so far having him on just dry has been making his stool get better... but it still isn't the way I would like to see it.

I might just bite the bullet and try again... I'll feed him a little bit tonight and see what happens.... just a litttttlllle bit!

Do the cats like goat? Never tried that one. I just had a distributor mention how chicken long term can foster allergies as it tends to be "hot". I have give chicken for years but I would like to do some variety.

Try using some probiotics as well...
