makes no sense to me either, Kristine :( i am really just fed up...we have no gas, no ice, no D batteries for flashlights, and traffic is horrendous! We had 2 substations go out, but i heard that they were back online today, yet we still have no power....i just dont get it, but will be asking many questions at the next town meeting.

i will go upstate NY this weekend to get gas for the generator to keep the babies warm. and to top it all off, they have offered no shleters for people to go and keep warm....

We have 4 friends from NJ coming up tonight for this, pretty good chance we are meeting them in easton with cans of gas as well because the one has been working and is out of gas and can't find any more

Easton my boss (works in bethlaham) told me is about 1-2 hour wait for gas right now. NY might not be much better.

I got one of the crank flash lights you power by spinning a piece and its great, no I'm out of batteries.

Id offer help but we don't have the space, our visitors are sleeping on couches and air matresses and my boys aren't other kitty friendly.

We got two feet of snow, but never lost power. We were without power 10 days over the 4th of July. Is the world turning Bizarro? They are calling or more snow tonite. My grandchildren just got home from here yesterday. Whew! Poor, worn out kittens. Thoughts with you Paige and the others around NYC!

Yeah this storm was a disaster for ppl up north. usually it hits hard more south. My wife's cousin is homeless right now since her apartment is under water. luckily shes got family near by that she can stay at.

Docmac, that's crazy. i see your in the mountains of West VA huh. ive done the drive from NoVA to Morgan town and those mountains are no joke. i remember going up an incline and having to floor it to maintain my speed. it was a 4 cyl Honda though.

Paige, GL up there! Stay safe and warm. its pretty cold down in VA so im sure its colder up there. hope everything works out!

Hang in there everybody. The longest I've gone without was 6 days with Hurricane Charlie. You can cope days 1& 2. By the third day , you have had it and are in desperate need of a hot shower and a decent meal. If utilities were underground, people would not be losing power. I think I have come up with a way to stimulate the economy and put people back to work - start putting all utilities underground. Sue
