Fuzzies feel?

Well went for another visit and I'm wondering if he and his litter mates were just having a bad hair day the last time. lol Because when I was petting him this time he didn't have the same roughness. He must have forgotten to comb his hair either that or wouldn't let mom bath him. hehe

Talked to the breeder about it and she said it was a normal SV coat. :)

The fur feel is not "dry", but rough, like the fur is more like hair and has a different diameter than fur. It's the way we grade wool (microns), I.e. fine, for babies, medium for sweaters, and thick for rugs. And, Trish, I know ...how can anything feel wild??? Sometimes I describe things in unpredictable ways - just a different nuance for wild. I immediately thought he felt like a deer.

Hi, we have a 5 month old sbt from A1. She just went into her fuzzies again (we think) last week. Is this common for them to alternate? She was light gray with a little brown when we got her, but getting dark gray now. She looks really nappy. Two weeks ago, she had soft short fur/pelt which was super sleek and smooth. Now she looks like an alley cat. (Still cute though) Avatar shows her light two weeks ago. Wondering if she will continue to darken.

Any thoughts? She is growing really tall, really fast. Just had her dewormed over three weeks since our bengal had worms from the breeder.

Thanks

Hey, was just wondering what Generation you have from A1. I'm actually waiting on an F2 and F4 from them. Would love to know about your kitty's progress and maybe anything I should expect before I receive them.

I can't remember ever having a kitten go through a second fuzzy stage, however, kittens will sometimes change their coats depending on the weather, so it may be that you have noticed a change in her coat with the onset of winter. Not sure what you mean by 'nappy' either. Can you post a 'before and after' pic so we can see the changes you are talking about?

Echo is an sbt. I guess f5 or beyond. She isn't as big as the earlier generations. She is about 6 pounds at 4.5 months. Tall and long. Follow their recommendations on socializing them. They eat a ton. Constant, really, like they have a tape worm! We feed them a combination of wet and dry foods that are grain free. A1 has them on Iams. We switched as soon as the recommendations would allow. Do your research on pet foods. We found that the cat's really like a combination of Acana and Taste of the Wild. They are high protein. We also feed them Raw chicken wings a couple times per week. We give them a large variety of wet foods, all grain free.
Echo is a HUGE beggar. She let's us know when she wants food (always) and where it is. She is a scavenger. We have a daycare and she wants to scavenge the floor after the kids eat. It keeps us on our toes cleaning up, fast.
A1 is good with questions, but you have to reach out to them. The haven't checked in to see how Echo is doing or anything. The cattery we got our bengal from checked in after a few times.

Ok, that makes sense. It just got freaky cold up here in Mn and they got to travel with us and were exposed to the cold for a few moments from the house to the van and back. Both, the bengal and the savannah got nappy. (longer hair that is rougher, looks like they just had a bath all the time, oily)
We'll see how they do after we get home and are in our routine for a few days.
