Awww... Thank you very much, Ninja-n-Bear! I would rather keep the site in the community than do anything else. What do you think an annual fee should be?

Hmm, $10-$20? It should be an amount that isn't daunting to prospective new members, but obviously, enough to cover your needs. I donated $25 earlier, and was happy to do it, but that may seem steep to folks who haven't experienced the awesomeness.

You could also go the monthly route with an annual option, just as an example - $2.99 per month or $19.99 for the whole year.

Or, just do like PBS and hit us up every year. There could be t-shirts involved as a low-cost prize - I really, really want one that says "I love my Savandal" (hint hint).

Just throwing stuff out there, lol, I'll support whatever you decide!

I was happy to donate to the forums, a lot of great info and people and furry lil kids.
But theres problem with charging to sign up.
Someone might just join for advice for their sick kitty and never be seen again. If there's a cost associated with that they might not even bother to ask for help. The help, advice and experience might be pivotal to aiding their sick kitty.

Maybe for non subscribers(donaters) set it up where they only have access to certain part of the forums.
I'd just hate to see a critter suffer over a little money when one of the wonderfull people here might have great advice from past experiences.

I'm more then happy to keep contributing, I'll do my best to send some more $$$$ each month.

I agree David and it is something we struggle with. I do have parts of the forum unavailable to non supporters, but not the essential info.

The new forum should be ready by next week, so I would like to figure it out by then.

I feel like that might solve the issue that David brought up, possibly. Given the choice between no advice and paying $3, I'd pay the $3 even if I never planned on using the site again.

I think a yearly fee is reasonable, however I also think that if we had yearly, or even monthly reminders of the need for donations we might be able to meet our needs that way - then those who do just join for a one time need can still receive assistance and advice without having to pay for a full year's access.

Like many people I don’t really understand the inner guts of how the internet works, but I intially hesitated about donating because the URL I see for this website has a little i at the beginning and when I click on it a pop up window says the website is not secure and people should avoid entering any sensitive information like a credit card. That may not be a real concern in this case, but it maybe enough to make quite a few people unwilling to take a chance...?
