Getting a foster baby tonight

I'm so glad to hear Thor is doing a bit better. Hopefully he will continue to improve until he gets on solids! Did you get the Stage II KMR? I would not use the baby formula (just personal experience) but the stage II worked wonders for me when my kitten was about four weeks old.

They only had one option at the pet store, so I got that KMR. I didn't have time to go to the bigger pet stores, I will do that tomorrow as I am off and he will need more.
He still has diarrhea, but it is not nearly as bad. He isn't crying in pain when he goes to the bathroom anymore, just in annoyance because I am making him potty :p The bath helped a lot too, as his bum isn't constantly wet and irritated. He is cluster feeding. He ate about 17 ml last night at 9, and slept all through the night! I woke him up at 3 to eat, and he ate another 10 ml approx and went back to sleep. I woke him up at 7:30 and he ate another 17 ml. It makes it easier on his bum, and easier on my work and sleep habits haha.

My cats are so mad at me! Zeddie refuses to have anything to do with him except steal the new toys I just bought him...and then make sure she shows me she stole his toys -_-
Tiger doesn't know what to do about him haha he walks near him, then runs away :roflmao:

Thanks for all the support and advice! Thor is acting like a curious kitten and explores as far as he can

Update: Thor is beginning to use his litter box!! :big grin::big grin:

Bad news: I found a lump on his side....took him to the vet but they said just to wait and see. Seriously hoping it is nothing serious

What kind of lump? Is it movable or does it seem to be attached to the underlying bone or muscle? Is it hard or soft? Does it seem to hurt him when you manipulate it? Where exactly is it located?

Glad to hear that he is using the litterbox, way to go little Thor!

He is still being stimulated. He is approximately 4 weeks old...but a very early 4 weeks. He isn't doing very well on the milk replacer...he has severe diarrhea, and cries every time he goes to the bathroom :(
The vet gave me some forti flora to put into his food 3x/day, and he is being put on sub qs during the day. He looked pretty sick when I got in today, but has perked up since.

We introduced him to kitten canned food (development) but he wasn't at all interested in it. Maybe I will try the baby gruel for him...the lamb baby food is for human babies? or kitty babies?
If possible give little baby organic cold pressed coconut oil, my kitty licks it off anything I put it on .... My finger the counter. And would do good on sore bum too. Poor baby.

What will the coconut oil do for the kitten? I know for me, coconut milk gives me severe diarrhea so not anything I'd ever consider giving a little kitten that already has diarrhea. Does the oil work differently?

Kristin, a word of encouragement. About six years ago, my son's girlfriend adopted a 5 week old orphan kitten. The cat came from a vet's office and had just started eating solid food as the office was hand feeding the kittens of the litter. That cat is alive and well today, and is the DSH that I talk about on these forums. Hang in there, little kittens are more stout than you think.
