I have had my share of bad Vet experiences.... Unfortunately arrogance can also come into play, as they think they know everything and don't want to listen to the owner! I had one almost kill one of my wallabies years ago because of ignorance of a basic concept like proper hydration. Idiots...... Good luck finding a better Vet!

I just left another vet because my birman cat had a knob in the fur. (what's the english word for this?)
i told the vet that she didn't needed to cut it out, that i wanted to do it myself.
She didn't listen and tried anyway. cutting didn't work so they shaved.
After telling her again that she didn't need to do it she didn't stop.
It all went very uneasy and they needed 4 hands to keep a 16year old cat calm.
i can do it alone without him even noticing it.
Knob/knot is for a rope, a cat's hair turns into a matt...now that gives me an idea, I have lots of cat hair, I wonder if I can make and sell bath mats out of it...hmmmm.

Birmans and Ragdolls are very similar. These are my favorite de-matting tools:

(The quality of the greyhound combs at this site is amazing, before I got mine I thought all combs were equal but no way!)

I just got home from work.

I wanted to call the vet about the bandage.

First i checked my mails and she sended me a mail herself to ask if i was able to get the bandage off.
So clearly something what not right and she was not feeling good about it.
We never send mails before.
I told her my story and asked how come she didn't take it off.

Yes,

She told me that they let the bondage on long enough untill they wake up.
Else the place of the infuse might become swollen.
And then she told me that for my cat it won't happen again and they will take it off.

So what i understand from this is that when themba waked up she wasn't able to get if off.

I don't know if i put this here before.

But the vet only gave me a cycle of 3 days.
Because i found it out very quickly she says it should be enough.
Else it was 10 days or 2 cycles from 5 days or something like that.

So far other people don't really believe 3 days might work.

What meds did you get? If its Fendabendazole 3 days isn't enough, they need 5 days off for 7 and another 5 days. All animals should be treated.

Yes the vet said we would take care of the campylobacter afterwards. the giarda was the most important.

I find it strange why she would say 3 days then.
Because she told me that she normally does 2x5days.
But because the infection was low she said 3days.

But then i think, my older cat might have it for a long time without symptoms and themba might get it from him.
Oh well, next week i will know if the 3 days would have worked or not.

I'm still doubting about going to a new vet or not.
Only the new one would be 50minutes driving and this one is 10minutes.

If it ain't gone within 3 days, that would make to many mistakes on 1 day that the vet did.
