Harness or Walking Jacket Suggestions, Please.

Anyone have any tips on getting them used to using the leash after getting them used to wearing the jacket? All he wants to do is roll around on the floor and wrap himself up and chew on it every now and then, LOL!
Kovu was like that too. lol We just had to work on it, little by little every day. He'd go for little walks around the house, or when I'd take him to the vet to get his shots I'd just have him on his harness/leash. Its been 2 months & he is pretty good at it, but he does have his stubborn moments.

I like Arden's jackets for my larger (e.g., F1) cats but I find them otherwise too bulky and restrictive for my 'normal' sized cats. I think it is because of how wide she makes the velcro straps around the neck and chest.

I don't know - Zuri is normal-sized and her jacket fits her nicely.

Practice makes perfect... :big grin: Give it a little more time.

Oh, you mean it doesn't happen INSTANTLY...?! Hehe. ;) Yes, I'm sure he will need plenty of time and practice. I'm just glad he doesn't hate it. He might get annoyed after a bit with the leash on, but he doesn't try to fight to get it off like Ive seen other cats do.

Yeah, that is how I was thinking it was going to work out too. I just don't know if I should "torture" him with walking around the house on the leash first, or if I should immediately start with small outside trips in the back yard to associate the fun out there with the leash. He already wears the jacket with no problem.

Small outside trips...

I feel like he would be more distracted with stuff outside and forget about the leash a little earlier, but you know me, being a daddy who thinks his little fur man is ready for anything... LOL!

Just as an update - Arden's walking jackets may be too heavy for warm temps...I had Taj out for only 25 minutes and he was panting...so I will probably order a harness...or buy one at Petco...

Leather doesn't breathe too well... Hopefully Sorte's "alligator" jacket will be light enough for warm weather.
