Kovu was like that too. lol We just had to work on it, little by little every day. He'd go for little walks around the house, or when I'd take him to the vet to get his shots I'd just have him on his harness/leash. Its been 2 months & he is pretty good at it, but he does have his stubborn moments.
Give it a little more time.
Yes, I'm sure he will need plenty of time and practice. I'm just glad he doesn't hate it. He might get annoyed after a bit with the leash on, but he doesn't try to fight to get it off like Ive seen other cats do.
