Well. I put the harness on Kilifi and let Azidi out of her room, then closed the door so she could not hide. ( I know it's mean...) Then I brought Kilifi out, and let them "talk " to each other. There was much growling, and hissing but a lot of the sounds that seemed more scared and unsure than angry. From both girls. I let them vocalize for about 5 min. They were as close as 2 feet. But there was no physical contact. Kilifi IS the aggressor, and is obviously trying to be the Alpha. Azidi is very submissive and non combative. It does get less active each time I put them together, but I still don't want to destroy the trust I have built with Azidi. It's a hard choice.

I have been trying to tire Kilifi out so that she won't be quite so aggressive when I put the two together. It's a hard thing to do...Tire her out. But she has started doing something new. She is Serval pouncing on almost everything she cannot see, but can hear. Like my hand behind the pillow or her wand toy in the folds of a blanket.
That's a great idea trying to wear Kilifi out before putting her and Azidi together ---- we'll have to see who actually gets worn out first.... :roflmao:

Sounds like this is going to be the better way for them to grow accustomed to each other. I would give them more than five minutes at a time though - that's just long enough for them to realize they still don't like each other, but not enough time for them to grow familiar with the other's presence in their life.

Don't worry about losing Azidi's trust - she has already shown that she is bonded to you, and comes to you for comfort when she is unsure or afraid.

Wearing out Kilifi...Ain't gonna happen. She is unwearable outable. I think I will continue with the harness and introing them that way. More than 5 min it is.
Maybe I am just overly cautious about her trust. I will bow to the expert. ;)

They all we wear out... Sooner or later... Problem is, that point many times is beyond our wear out point by a fair margin...:rolleyes: I am sure you will get it all worked out...

The good news is that Azidi is non dominant. You would have a bigger challenge trying to get two dominant personalities to work out their living arrangements. You have cat trees/vertical areas throughout the house yes? That will contribute to the settling of living arrangements.

Yes Deb, a couple. I need to get more but I need to find a vehicle big enough to transport one. My Mustang has NO ROOM.
And yes Azidi is not an alpha. So that fight will not be ongoing, but she is so fearful. I just need to get them to relax. BOTH of them.

Took all day before Azidi decided she would come out of her room. But she did. And I was the mean old human again and shut her door. Then I got Kilifi in the harness and took her out to the living room to let the 2 of them complain. And they did. after about 10 min of growling Azidi started to quiet down. Kilif was only aggressive for about 5 min, then she calmed down. Her meows became more plaintive and pleading. Azidi responded with growling, but quieted down. Then they just looked at each other. Well Kilifi still was pleading...but finally she calmed down and laid down. since they were both quiet, I gave them about 5 min and then took Kilifi back to the bedroom, and coaxed Azidi back into her room. When she got back in her room she was ready to play..and play.. and play.. and love. Coming along.

Sounds like progress... Hope all continues in a good way.
