Woops. Kilifi has figured out how to EXIT the harness. She is a Houdini. Crate time.

You need to make it snugger. Are you using a dog harness or a walking jacket? If she is backing out of it, don't let her - walk toward her so that she can't put traction on the leash and then use it to pull the harness off.

I was gonna use the harness/leash to put her in with Zidi. But I will use the crate instead. I need to get a walking jacket. My understanding is they are more secure.

OK. Kilifi in the crate. Azidi started under the bed, but came out and went up the tree. Kilifi watching like a hawk. No noise tho

And if you can lift up a bit they won't have enough traction to get out. I usually give slack while moving forward fast enough to take up leash until I'm close enough to lift.

It's more important that the chest part is snug--once they get their elbows under they're out.

That said, Samwise would flip out and then do this incredibly fast Houdini move and be out of the harness before I could even start to react. Wish I had a film of it so I could figure out his moves.

Yeah. I will work on that. But sheesh...ONE thing at a time.
After an hour of Kilifi in the room in the crate, and Zidi in the tree, I was able to walk up to Zidi and she let me pet her. Did not run, like she usually does when Kilifi is in the room. Restrained or not. So after I took Kilifi out, I was in with Azidi and I put her little bed in the closet on the shelf and figured I would try ti put her in the bed. SHE FREAKING LET ME PICK HER UP. I put her in the bed, but she was not too keen on the idea of her bed on a shelf. So I took the bed out and went over to the tree. She RAN from the closet and up into the tree so I could pet her. We played a bit on the shelf and she went into the house in the tree and stretched out. So I let her be. Now she is out meowing for me to come in.
She is becoming much more agreeable to me protecting her. Maybe that is what I need to do. Let her know I am her protector.

Yes I think so. If I can just get the 2 of them to sit in the same room close without running, then I am sure they will become playmates.When Azidi runs because she is afraid, Kilifi says run = play = fun. LETS get it on.

Instead of responding to her calling to you by going in the room why don't you stay outside can call to her? Maybe open a can of cat food and start dishing it up where she can see what you're doing.

I know you know, but after all that, don't forget to give Kilifi her own special one-on-one time as well.
