Hello from a possible Savannah owner

Hi I wanted to introduce myself first before I got into asking questions. My husband and I are looking at getting a Savannah kitten. We currently have 2 Bengal cats that we love an enjoy. Bailey our silver spotted female is 7 months old and Chase our brown marble boy is 6 months old. We also live with 2 Miniature Pinschers and a few reptiles and fish. We have a 11 year old daughter which lives with her mother most of the year but gets to come visit in the summer months.

We contacted our breeder hoping to bring home a brown spotted male Bengal but at this time she doesn't have any available but did offer us a brown spotted male Savannah kitten. My husband of course got giddy as he's been wanting a Savannah even before getting the Bengals. We will go see this little boy next week. Luckily our breeder lives about 5 minutes away. He is from a F2 mother and F5 father. I think that would make him an F3, if I"m wrong please correct me. :)

Still new in all things Savannah so thought it would be great to join a forum for these wonderful cats and find out as much as possible. I know I will learn lots from all you wonderful people and hope to join you soon as a Savannah owner (slave :p).

Thank you.

If you have two Bengals I think a Savannah won't be so much a transition for you. Their personalities are a bit different in general, but all are individuals and on the plus side, the energy levels will be perfectly compatible. Good luck and hope he is a good fit for you!

Thank you all for the warm welcomes! I have been reading threads already and getting lots of good information. I'll be sure to take my camera and try and get good pictures of the little one and post. I would have gone and seen him this week but it's a busy week for both myself and the breeder, but it will be nice to visit the kitten often. I definitely want to bond with him as much as I can before bringing him home if we decide to get him. And it helps ease the waiting too. lol
