Tinkerbell was also called stinkerbell for a while. If all else is ruled out (very young, food, digestion etc). You might want to read the thread on Tritrichomonus Foetus which is listed under the health questions. I got Tink at 4 months old and she was gassy with cowpie stools. It turned out she had TF which is not diagnosed by fecal float tests. Sue

Hi again, thank you for all the responses this has been very insightful.

Just to elaborate a bit. We do not actually see liter particles sticking to her behind or in her paws; her stool sample is like a normal cats and she is nicely litter trained. I suppose we thought that because she is so young she has not mastered the art of licking herself clean. As a result of the latter we note that she is stinkier which of course causes paranoia on our part i.e. that fecal mater we don't see may end up rubbing itself off onto our pillows or comforter.

The perfect example I can give is the other day my husband had her sitting on his stomach and lap which she does quite frequently. We then went out for a few hours and my husband kept complaining that he kept smelling cat poop.

I suppose we are of the assumption that if a cat licks herself clean properly then the above would not happen; but, we have never had a savannah muchless one with a bob tail so I guess we are looking for confirmation that this is either normal or is not normal.

Thank you so much for the other input regarding her playing with us -- it makes a lot more sense now, she is bonding with us much as she would with her siblings so we have to discourage that behavior and have her focus on toy's to shed her energy.

Smelling like poop after the kitten sits on you definitely is not normal, regardless of the breed. The only other thing I can think of is that her anal glands might need to be expressed. This is normally taken care of when the cat cleans itself but can on occasion become impacted or infected.

I think the anal glands is a good guess, it seems unusual in such a young kitten... I had thought that more an issue with older cats but have not had an issue with mine to really know. Might be worth asking your vet about when you take her in for her next vaccination.
