Hi everyone!

Savannah Child
Everyone here has given some great advice. I'd really look at a lot of photos on websites, this chat and Facebook and decide what look and what level of intensity in a Savannah you want. Talk to the breeders to determine if a kitten is not only right in looks but in personality. You can have a really naughty F7 or a laid back F2. Your breeder should be willing to help match up the right kitten to your wants and needs. Ask for references or ask here to make sure they're a good reputable breeder. You want your first experience to be a good one. :)

That's fantastic @Alicia!! I wasn't sure if you were going to show him again... as I recall you mentioned that he was becoming a little pudgy at one point, although I thought he looked pretty darned good in the video you just posted on FB
Lol well he will always have his little "pouch" however he does look pretty good! And I think his coloring is looking really nice!! He is such a Huge lover, I feel I have to show him! :) he seems to enjoy it so much..... I think he has either 6 or 8 points at the moment....

LOL, he has a whooping 8 points - better get him on the 'treadmill' to get into shape for the show in Feb!! :roflmao: Of course coloring is not what makes a Savannah, but as I recall he was looking pretty good when he left here... I'll keep my fingers crossed that he wins a ring or two! You never know, in a region where Savannahs are so rarely shown, I think you'll find the judges will either love him or snub him...

LOL I know well it was my first show and I did totally miss a ring! :( that's why we are going back, it was about 3/4 loved him and 1/4 snubbed him, mostly cause of his pouch and his tail... :( the pouch is a genetic thing though, he's not fat! I think he looks great!! :)
Paws crossed he wins a ring or 2 this time!!!

I think this will be a different experience from the Annual, which is a huge show. Hopefully you will have a great time and meet new friends there. The primordial pouch is there for good I'm afraid, you'll just have to see how the judges react to it... :not sure:

Oh I always have a great time! I just have to remember not to be such a diva LOL! I am very competitive and I remind myself of those pageant moms...... :/
I'm looking forward to February though I think it will be way more relaxed with a smaller setting, much less stressful :)

I think you are right, but don't get discouraged if he doesn't final - it's still fun to go!

Showing IS a lot of fun - at least I think so! I really wish I could get to more shows, but there are just not many in my area and driving 6-8 hours to get to a show is just no in the cards for me.

I'm so excited that there will be a Savannah at my first cat show. Very much looking forward to meeting you, Alicia!
