I just checked on FB... recently someone else posted another cat from this cattery's pedigree and there were a number of mistakes, registration codes wrong and parents for some cats wrong. I think the program the breeder might be making up the pedigrees in has issues and mistakes happen. that's often why it is best to ask for TICA certified pedigrees!

There is no way that male is an F3C anyway...there were many mistakes in the pedigree, if we remember correctly...

I contacted Phil Cornwell at TICA in the UK on 28 January and sent him a copy of the 5 generation pedigree provided by the breeder. He looked into it and confirmed that TICA were happy that this matched TICAs records and my TICA registration slips. I have today requested a full 5 generation pedigree from TICA in the US.

Glad to hear it... Let us know what happens please... I still don't buy that the male is a fertile F3.... This breeder has pedigrees that are completely incorrect, which is what probably happened here.

What did the breeder say when she learned that one of her F3 male kittens was confirmed fertile?

I don't know a heck of a lot about lineage, I leave that to all you fantastic breeders out there, however I have a question, maybe a silly one. Does the lineage of an F3 go back 5 generations?

Not past the Serval (as TICA does not track pedigrees of other species of cats), but the domestic cats used can definitely go past 5 generations. My F1 Nina has an F2B mother so although the sire's side of the pedigree is blank, the dam's side of her pedigree is full

I'm not buying it either Paige, as soon as the kittens were born I knew I didn't have an F3 Even if the 5 gen TICA pedigree checks out it would be fairly easy for an unscrupulous breeder, I should think, to claim a kittens were born to a completely different set of parents if they own both or kittens of a different generation put in with a higher generation moma. I knew Bamba was the father of the kittens and didn't hesitate in having him neutered before they were born and got the genetic tests done just to prove to the breeder!

I think it good to have the proof. And I agree, that it would not be the first time that an unscrupulous breeder has "hung" papers on a cat... it does happen sadly.

What makes me doubt this is a world's first F3 is that if the breeder was sure of this being an F3 they'd be very very happy to tell everyone about their amazing kitten they produced.
