How do I keep my Savannah off counters?

Cheryl you are lucky if that's all your Savannah gets into, our 2 are into everything ,we have a cabinet built into the wall in the hallway and the lower part has 3 lower drawers on the bottom, I have seen our male cat stand up and grab the top draw with his front claws and hang on and pull himself up and push with his rear legs and the top drawer will slide open, then he drops back to the floor and jumps into the open drawer and stands on the edge of the drawer and stands up and hooks the cabinet door and pulls it open then he goes into the cabinet ,it's deep, and dark and makes a bed on the folded blankets or towels , what ever he is in the mood for at the time, app is 20 sec. Cody's problem solving abilities are off the chart, Savannah cats are nowhere close to your Persian , Ragdoll, or house cat, Cody is 20 months old and we Savannah proofed our house but Cody and Camille have proofed their is no such thing as a fully proofed Savannah house, watch out for poisons they can find and remember, if you can't hear your kitten, he maybe into something. I see this is your first post and welcome to cat chat and enjoy your Savannah

Thanks for all the tips. He is relentless. I tried sticky tape as well but he just walked on that too. I will try the orange scent thing and the air spray but I have large counters so I'm not sure where I would put that or if he would care. I'm trying to clicker train him so sometimes if he wants something he will sit at my feet and I will give him a treat. If anyone is interested, It by Karen Pryor - How to Clicker Train Your Cat (or something like that... I don't have it right in front of me). I bought a hula hoop I want to train him to jump through. He is VERY food motivated so that always makes clicker training easier.

My cat just learned to jump on the counter....I said it was a matter of days in my previous post lol I scare him off so quickly and I lock him the bathroom for 15 minutes each time he jumped on the counter (x 4 in one evening ). Since he jump for the first time two days ago... he stop doing it.... (

I think he found me really protective of my counter... now he look at me really sad and moew sadly looking at the counter. I just want take him and put him on the counter my self (I won't) lol

But, cannot be that easy, I will be prepare. My trouble maker... is getting in more and more trouble each day. Cannot be prouder! I feel like a parent who his child just start walking. I'm proud of him, but nostalgic when his favourite activity was to sleep on my chest and asking me to to take him in my arm (he use to raise his arm when he wanted me to hold him) . lol lol Now it's asking more food, jump everywhere, playing with my feet, walking me up when I sleep hahahahahah or jump in my arm lol lol

i've heard one lady who eat one orange each day. She let the pit off on counter in one bowl each morning and she is trowing it out after cleaning her kitchen every evening after the supper.

However, the most effective way apparently, it's the orange juice on his paw nothing worse apparently for a cat to lick his paw with the orange smell.
