Welcome Presley. My husband grew up in Houston and we visit family there 1x per year. More important, my jeweler is in Houston. LOL. Presley is a handsome boy and I hope you post more pictures.

To my knowledge Dallas is the only major city in Texas that is not SV friendly. I'm not sure about smaller counties though. Now I'm curious. Please chime in if anyone knows.
Texas has strict rules about Savannah ownership, but defers to the counties to regulate (or outlaw) them. You can find the TX laws as well as a partial list of the counties that allow Savannahs with a permit and those that have made them completely illegal: http://www.hybridlaw.com/ (click on TX)

Maybe I'm naive (or poor) but I was thinking that it would be strange to spend that much money on a cat to not even try to acclimate him with the other pets, if he is only 9-10 weeks old?
I didn't pay anything for him but my friend that I got him from said she only paid $250.00

He is a lovely boy however if his sire is a serval, that would make him an F1 Savannah. He doesn't look like an F1 Savannah? Maybe they were confused about the pedigree. Pedigrees can be very hard to understand with cats, especially Savannahs.

I didn't think so either. Especially the fact the the original buyer supposedly only paid $250 for him and only gave him 2 weeks to adjust. What was it that leads you to believe he's not f1? Just curious...... It doesn't matter either way. We will love him just the same.

I didn't mean anything about you, just when I was researching to find Duma I barely thought I could afford an F3...he definitely wasn't $250, and I certainly didn't see any F1s that I thought I could afford. Your friend's story just seems kinda strange is all. But what do I know.

Welcome to the forum. That's an adorable pic of Presley and his toy. Do you have any other pix? Honestly, just trying to tell what generation he is from a pic that small and at that angle is a bit tough. But F1's can go for $5,000+ that's the only reason people would be suspect of someone giving up on an F1 kitten that quickly not to mention paying only $250 for one seems suspect. I'm not saying it can't or didn't happen, it's just a bit suspect at best. That being said, who knows the circumstances, maybe the breeder was motivated to "get rid" of the kittens for lawful purposes or were extremely hard up for money and had to pay bills, or maybe it was a family member and they didn't feel right charging another family member for a kitten. I suppose there could be a million scenarios, but I'm definitely curious what it is lol In any case, I certainly welcome you here and congratulations on your new little buddy! They are such a joy added to our lives :)

I found it a bit odd myself but I was super excited and didn't ask too many questions. My main concern was that she got him legally so she gave me all the paperwork the breeder gave her with all the info. It was later on that I found it weird that a supposed f1 was given up so cheap. How and where can I post pics? Is it the "img" code hosted by photobucket, tinypic, etc or the file name directly from my computer

Yeah, the important thing is that you got papers so you know it's legit :) Which breeder did he come from, if you don't mind me asking, just curious, there's a lot of people who are breeders here, so they may know of that particular breeder and can actually tell you more about your cat and it's lineage. As for posting pix, you can do it either way :) you can hotlink using the "img" codes on photobucket or other image hosting sites like it or you can upload it to the server via your computer by clicking on the "Upload a File" tab just below the quick reply box. There's a lot of really knowledgeable people on this site, so feel free to ask away when you've got questions and in menu at the very top, there's a tab that says "Users Albums" people love to upload a ton of pix of their kitty's there also :) So feel free to create one if you'd like :)
