I'm having great success with the freeze dried food. I give him 2 meals of that and 2 meals of canned and he mauls me before I can get the freeze dried on to the floor. I give him a BUNCH of water and throw some floaters in there but he eats them all and licks the water out. Perfect way to get tons of water into him. I read somewhere (Here? not sure) that it is okay to switch the meals if you are using the same protein and no grain and no problems so far so I think I will keep feeding the half raw half canned diet. You can't be the convenience in my situation because my cat won't go downstairs so now there are less smelly cans sitting in the garbage and I don't have to worry about bringing up food, I just have a stack of plates up here to recycle. Thanks for everybody's help and will update on the IBD situation after a few weeks on this stuff.

I am so glad George is getting a second chance! I have 2 f2s, and you are right, the affection these guys show their people is nothing short of amazing.
My boy just turned 1 and he has never liked the pate canned either. I wouldn't worry so much about amounts as his body heals, especially getting healthy kitty food. If it makes you feel better, my boy eats more than most tigers, I think. He gets 2 6oz cans of Weruva Peking duck, paw lickin chicken or stake frites, all human grade, shredded meat in a little gravy. This is just in supplement of his raw, the main portion of his diet. I feed frozen, prepared raw mainly from Primal to ensure all the bones, organs and appropriate supplements are ground up in there. I am sure he is eating closer to 20 oz of raw, and he is still quite thin. When growing, that raw goes up even more, I am not sure where he puts it all! My girl, who is about 2, won't eat canned at all. She is strictly raw and eats about half of what Kovu does on his slow days. We don't have dry, Kovu never ate it. Nyah would eat a little Orijen but not enough to make it worth having. My cat food bill does rival my human food bill! My husband claims it is more, but I think he is just being dramatic.
I am lucky in that I work from home most of the time so I can feed multiple meals of raw a day. I know not everyone has that luxury. Keep posting pictures! I can't wait to here stories of how he was worked his way even more into your heart.

Stella and Chewy's, I found it on chewy.com for 20 bucks a 12 oz bag. I bought 4 bags because it was free shipping and 20 percent off if you signed up for auto ship. It seems expensive but its easier than carting raw food up and down the stairs and have him stick his little nose up in the air and Petco doesn't carry a huge supply of any flavor so ordering and shipping and storing all these cans are a pita. I will keep this 2 cans of Soulistic chicken (made by weruva for Petco, its shredded chicken in gel and he loves it most of the time) and 2 meals of freeze dried for awhile and see how it goes and if I see huge improvement in his stools, I will know its working. (he's got this loose thing going on but lately seeing more formed stools, woot!)
