Sounds like Zuri is easing up the human tests, giving you a Passing grade so far, and is starting the commitment stage, but ever wary. :)

Looks like you all are well on the way to full furry family bonding.!!!

Took the the wire cover off and left the baby gate, locked up miniature schnauzer (she has a huge hunt and chase instinct) and Nala (F3 F SV) she can be aggressive. Played with Mitzi and Dolos on outside of gate and Zuri on other side. He hung half way out and looked around and did a tour of the house with Mitzi right behind him. She started hissing and batting and he went back over his gate.

He came back out and Mitzi started with him again (this is how she plays with Dolos, but her tail was fluffy so she was posturing.) Poor guy is intimidated by her even though she is maybe 1/3 his size. He is back in his room laying right in front of the gate and Mitzi continues to lay about 4 ft from it. Both just watching each other. Let Nala and Gretchen back in. Gretchen is ignoring him while he is in his room and Nala just laid on the kitchen counter watching then came back to lay on me.

We are staying home today so going to leave it open so I can monitor.

Zuri is doing great! No problems at all. He comes out to explore the house for a short time. When he goes back to his room he lays out in the open which he has seldom done and only goes under the desk to nap.

Mitzi is basically being a little bully, going in his room and trying to engage him. I think she is just testing him for a reaction or trying to play. He isn't sure what to make of her being so bold. Keeping a close eye on that. The other cats pretty much ignore him. Minor hissing once in a while, but Zuri loves watching all the other animals.

His room will stay set up for him so he doesn't have to leave it unless he wants to.

He is such a happy cat! I love the curiosity in his eyes. We still need to work on his confidence. Love seeing his baby steps.

We spent a lot of time playing today just outside of his room. Monte spent quite a bit of time checking out his room and Zuri followed him everywhere lightly touching Monte's rump with his paw. Tonight, he was in the window in the formal dining room and he has made himself comfortable on the chairs and is hanging out where he can watch us in the living room.
