Great news! I suspect he just needed to feel a little better and get over the trauma of the surgery before he was ready to be buds with his dad. All is right in the Jax household.

I'm not sure Deb but I wonder if he wasn't having a lasting effect from the drugs. He would come out and act like he was seeing things. He would jump and run and then stare at nothing. It was like a ghost was tormenting him . all at once, a complete turnaround. Now he's Serval jumping and running around. I'm very relieved. He has lost 3+ pounds and it really shows. His appetite is back and he's eating everything in site. I'm going to suggest to the vet he not stay there any longer than absolutely necessary. He is just so high strung that he over stresses. All is good! (At least for now! ) lol!

Yep. That was likely the biggest factor. Can't recall if you said the vet used ketamine because that's what he was comfortable with. Might have been someone else's thread. I don't like that drug. Although it's possible for an animal to have an odd reaction to any anesthetic.

He used a very small dose of ketamine to start the process. He then gave him a cocktail of two other drugs for the procedure. This is what was recommended by the professor of the anistesia dept. Of the vet school at U of Illinois.

Yep - undoubtedly the ketamine was causing the issues. So glad to hear he is back to his old self!!

I think someone is back 100 percent! He got clear up to the top of the China cabinet after the spare wand ends. I didn't catch him till he was in the middle of the living room Serval pouncing and rolling. Boy was he mad when I took them away from him. He sat and stared at me for a bit and then wandered off. Oh yeah, ,,,,,,,,10 minutes later he comes screaming threw the house with 15 feet of toilet paper strung out of his mouth! Guess he showed me! LOL! :roflmao:
