Let's pray that his immune system is finally kicking in and he is 'over the hump' so to speak. Just love on him and continue doing what you are doing.

It is sad that Makoi is having such a difficult time. I sincerely hope he pulls through and gets back to being his old self.

I also compliment your vet for not just seeing corona and writing Makoi off without considering other possibilities.

Hang in there and get yourself some rest while he is hospitalized. You are doing well by him and I believe he knows how much you care.

This vet I went to today wrote him off with FIP. I was soooo pissed. Excuse my anger! No way are we going to say FIP until he no longer has life. We are going to do everything. I asked that they hospital. Do b12 and probiotics. I asked for 3 days of hope and fight. He believes it's FIP. The specialist the ultrasounded was the one that said maybe it's something else.

Hang in there Stacie. You keep fighting for him as long as he is willing to fight. You all and Makoi are in our thoughts and prayers.

Stacie, believe me when I say I hope and pray with all my heart that Makoi will get better. This is going to be very hard for me to say and for you to read. IF the unthinkable happens...that he does indeed have FIP or something else that he most likely will not recover from....you will know in your heart when it is right to hang on and search for answers and hope that he can be treated or cured or live some semblance of quality of life....or to let him go. Watch for signs from Makoi. Look into his eyes. Look for light and a spark of life there and the will yet to live, or see (honestly) if it is a painful, dull, glazed glance. Makoi will tell you what he wants. Watch his body actions; look for weakness, fatigue, dullness of coat and frailty, or signs that he is gaining weight and eating and drinking with pleasure and attempts to play and interact. If he is still fighting to live, then let him, but only if he is fairly comfortable and not in pain. Don't let him suffer. I have not been through this in a long time, (only with much older pets) and I hope it is a very long time before I do again...but as much as we dearly love our pets...we have to love them enough to let them go when they tell us the time is now, or to keep fighting if there is a chance at cure or treatment....that said, I still hold out much hope that Makoi will get better and will live many happy years with you....
