I have been in that site before, but that (from my somewhat uneducated eye) appears to be a cat worth more than $300, even people on eBay are scammers. It's a shame to be the person I screen shot, it to me looks like up f1

Kronos has a bengal in his pedigree, along with Ocicat and OSH.

Are Bengals undesirable to use compared to other breeds?

Most Savannahs have bengal in their pedigrees due to the outcrosses used years ago. many breeders have stopped using Bengals because the bengal does not have the desired coat, body and head preferred in Savannahs. Many breeders concentrate on SV to SV breeding these days...

In the development of a breed within TICA we are allowed to use certain outcross breeds with the approval of the TICA Genetics and Rules committees as well as the TICA Board of Directors (to confirm they will actually add something to the breed). For the Savannah those breeds have been Oriental Shorthair, Egyptian Mau, Ocicat, and Domestic Shorthair. That doesn't mean that other breeds can't be used, in reality many different breeds have been used, including the Bengal (many early Savannah breeders started out as Bengal breeders). The Bengal was requested to be added as a permissible outcross but was denied by the TICA BOD.

The only thing using a nonpermissible breed does is to put an 'N' (nonpermissible) in the kittens' code instead of a 'P' (permissible). However, once you have three generations of Savannah x Savannah breeding the cats are SBT (considered a true breed by TICA) and the N and P codes drop off.

As of May 1st when the Savannah moves to Championship there will no longer be any permissible outcrosses allowed.
