On 4/17 we will have Kovu (our F4) for 2 months. Its hard to remember what our life was like without him, seems like we've had him forever.

Hi Rob and welcome!!!! Cannot wait to meet Zeus. I love that name too, when I was born my Mom had a Zeus who used to sleep with me in my crib. I blame her Zeus for my lifelong love of cats!

I've found out a few things so far .... First Zeus always talks to me like non stop and I understand most of it ... So many different types of meows these guys have everything from their screaming to their inquisitive chirp to the loving meew ... To their agitated (mainly cause even when he catches the laser, there is nothing there) meow. The growls, only have heard two hisses, I quickly put the toy i was introducing to him at the time away for another day. But the number one thing I learned ... When he is quiet that is when I need to find out what he has found because 9/10 times he is up to something he shouldn't be lol =}

The second thing I learned is there isn't anything that melts a heart faster than a kitty head butt, a flop and roll (asking
for belly rubs) and lots of kitty kisses with a face rub at the end !!!

They do talk a lot, Rob, depending on how much OS they have in their pedigree...Taj howls to go out and he is loud. And if I ask him a question, he definitely answers. Zuri chirps all the time, especially to play...and yes, when they are totally quiet, they are either sleeping or up to something

Kitty head butts are the best! And kisses? I don't get any of those, so I am jealous

Hi Rob, congrats on your new family member! Your smart to always check when things get quiet, at least in my house quiet equals trouble. ;-) In fact less than an hour ago I fished a roll of paper towels out of the dogs water bowl, quiet was my que that something was up.
You're right about the head butts and kitty kisses melting your heart. Toby & Hobbes have figured out a head butt covers a multitude of sins. Toby wakes me every morning with kisses & Hobbes grooms me every night as I'm dozing off.

My suggestion to you is always keep your sense of humor close at hand and prepare yourself for some wonderful life experiences.
