Yes, she poops/pees normally. It doesn't seem to be as often as before. (she would poop every night, then climb into bed) but the stools are normal. There have been a few accidents where she didnt make it to the litter box, but I think that's to be expected.

Well, I hope you get the results back quickly...I remember when waiting to see if my DSH has pancreatic cancer - it was agonizing...prayers are with you guys.

I'm so sorry to hear about your new baby....I agree with the other advice given here about keeping her comfortable and your options open and doing research....keep us posted when you get the test results back (keep calling to see if they are in yet).

I would be annoyed about the slow response on test results too. I loved the vets when my Bobo was recently so very sick, when the test results were not coming back his specialist was on the phone harassing them. When a kitty is that ill, there should be no delay :-(

What tests are you waiting on? Have you called the vet to find out why the results haven't come back? If he/she says they haven't received them from the outside lab insist on them calling the lab and finding out what the hold-up is. 48-72 hours IS to be expected, any longer and I would suspect that the specimen has been misplaced or some other mishap has befallen it.

We just got the tests back and it confirmed FIP. The vet wants to put her on prednisone tomorrow. I see it on treatment pages for FIP, but most say its not very effective?

Look- everything really depends on what you want to do.

I know there is work being done on FIP, but still at this point- from everything I know- there is no cure.

To me- I'd make my kitty comfortable and when he can't be comfortable anymore, I'd kiss him and hold him and let him go. THAT is what I would do.

Others are much more aggressive- hoping for that miracle and perhaps, perhaps you might see it and have a bit longer with your kitten, but the question always is- at what cost?

I am SO sorry. I wish there was another answer.
