Kitten on raw and i notice the difference right away

If I don't listen to your advice in the future, give me 1K slashes with a wet noodle! My new food grinder, bought from Harbor Freight, is now disabled! I was advised to get the Tasin, but noooooooo. now the piece we need is discontinued, all the local stores have sold out of grinders of any kind, and I have two large packages of chicken thighs to grind. Tasin is ordered, but won't be here in time. I am boiling the chicken to mix in with the raw at a later date.

Damn that sucks. I've had the Tasin for about 1.5 years and gets used every 1-2 months and its been solid so far. I wish the motor was a tad bit more powerful but its good enough for the job.

The huge difference I am seeing in our kittens is the growling and chirping. They seem more active as well but I have never heard hissing before today!! We just started feeding them raw since yesterday morning!

I've only had Shango for about 4 days now. And we've got him on raw chicken and some cooked chicken. Right now, he loves the cooked chicken! And funny you mention it, he growls at me if I get near his chicken plate! LoL! That's a good sign. We're going to be doing raw (or some cooked bird) as long as he likes it which I imagine will be his entire life. I think looking over the recipes in this forum is kind of fun anyways, that is to see what works and is healthy for your cat. It just seems like raw is better for them. I had a Persian male get FLUTD (urinary tract) years go from eating dry kibble, so that will not be in my books ever for Shango the Savannah. dj

Just be sure to include organs and supplements...

yep, good point. The raw has chicken gizzards and organs and the cooked has been just some boneless breast (for now). he really digs the cooked chicken and is eating some of the raw portion as well (I think as he gets older he'll come more accustomed to the raw portion).

One thing I've noticed about feeding raw is that my dogs LOVE to get to the litter box before I do. They are efficient in removing all solid litter and disposing of it all by themselves. Not so with canned or dry!
