I have also found that the warmer toned kittens lose a bit of contrast as they mature whereas the cool colored kittens keep their black spots. These are siblings:

I don't have any baby baby pics of Nyah, but here she is at almost 6 months, and then now:

And little Kovu. He has such great spots, if he were a bst, he would be incredible! I wish they showed up more in pics! This starts at the very, very beginning of his life, then 10 weeks, can't remember how old in the black chair, to a few days ago with Nyah. He is 7 months now.
