Zeddie makes those sounds all the time...most often in the mornings with the parrots are being too loud. She stands under my macaw's cage doing that every time he squawks. Its really funny...then she gets annoyed (probably her ears are ringing) and leaves the room

I guess what is different with Rafiki's chatter (as compared to my Himys chattering at birds) is that there is a tone. It is not just the jaws having a spasm. It is really like meh with vibrato.

Eddie does that when he gets behind a closed door (& I'm on the other side) until I open the door for him...he doesn't appear upset just comes into the room with me.

Both my DSH's chatter! Sometimes at birds outside and sometimes at a strategically placed laser light. Normally it's when the light is on the ceiling and they know there is NO way they can get to it. One of my favorite things that cats can do!!
