So Yesterday's News is similar to pine pellets...what I do is scoop up the poop and then scoop the urine, if I can, or just mix up the litter, since it will disintegrate into dust eventually...then I empty the entire box when there are not many pellets left. Hope this helps!

No, I'm offering food all day long...if anything I feed her too much but being a kitten I am able to. Once she us older and I have to cut back it will more than likely be harder on me than her. For instance breakfast morning medley/ trout in sauce then liver favored vitamins......on the counter have venison and chicken thawing. Going into city today to take a ill friend to doctor appt. will pop in at co-op and get her buffalo or something else that looks good. While I am gone she will have 2 different meat choices set out at different locations for her.
Ok, thanks, just ruling out a potential reason.
I don't think you can feed a SV kitten too much. My F3 boys can and have always had all they want, and they are very lean adults.

Can someone please give me some feedback on why playground (new & bagged of course) sand or just regular dirt can't be used instead of all these different manufactured litters?

For my fussy girl that won't work. And that is partly my fault...... When I cleaned when using the pellets I would use an unscented wipe and clean the spot where she has urinated. Then shift the litter back. With the pellets it's not as easy, if she smells urine she doesn't want to get Into The litter box. Oh boy what a --------!

There is no reason you can't use regular sand if you want, cats generally love to use a sandbox for their business. I personally prefer the point pellets because they are much lighter to haul around.

I meant with the clay litter not pellets, sorry for confusion!
