It may very well be hung up inside her intentines, which could be why she is a little irregular. As long as you are still seeing litter in her poop don't be too worried about her not having a daily BM. I definitely agree that increasing fluid intake can help to flush her out.
DAY 6 still passing litter
Looking on the bag ingredients: clay
I'm thinking it must have something additional to advertise its power clumping capabilities above all the rest of the litters. Tried to contact headquarters /manufactures for Dr. Elsey cat litter. I find this odd since he states on the package made in US.

I think any clumping litter could cause an issue but six days seems a long time for it to be passing through the gut. I would still not worry as long as she is pooping okay, but you might want to give your vet a call and see if he feels anything further is necessary (cathartic, etc.).

Taking her to the vet for a consult/ check up right now. Thanks for your input!

Kitty's vet visit today. With Kitty and stool sample in tow were off to the vet.
He checked/ listened to heart and lungs, checked eyes, ears, took temp & weight. Doing stool test, results tomorrow. Everything looks very good. Switching to sand good decision especially since kitty has accepted it and all clay litter gone. When considering PICA possible to also eat sand. Will keep a watch on it. Vet doc said she looks very healthy great personality. Holding off on doing blood work for anemia. But is going to retest for giardia.
Vet doc said ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY IS A DIRECT CONNECTION BETWEEN KITTENS TAKE AWAY FROM THEIR MUM AND BOTTLE FED AND HOST OF BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS.
WE'll see how it goes, tomorrow a new BM.

That is such a bunch of BS...where did your vet get his/her information? For the first few weeks of my first litter's lives, they were tube fed, since their mom was hospitalized...so what should I have done? Let them all die? I had seven kittens to save.

I have breeder friends who bottle feed after a few days for various reasons...their kittens are some of the best socialized ever...we really need to STOP making blanket statements like this...it is NOT helpful and only leads to AR BS falling back in our laps.

I totally agree Paige, I have raised my share of bottle fed babies, and although that is not my preference, I have never had ANY behavioral issues from doing so. I would love to see the research study this vet is basing his statement on.

Really, "WEVE ALREADY MOVED ON.................." I am not thinking this is so. You repeatedly keep on saying
"Vet doc said ABSOLUTELY POSITIVELY IS A DIRECT CONNECTION BETWEEN KITTENS TAKE AWAY FROM THEIR MUM AND BOTTLE FED AND HOST OF BEHAVIORAL PROBLEMS." You have now not only posted it on this thread but another thread where it was all explained. You do not seem to have an open mind at all, and if you want the issue to move on, then quit putting in your vets quote! This is soo NOT TRUE. Vets are not the know all , end all, be all, that sometimes they think they are. I have raised kittens for the past 30 years, and many of my babies have been bottle fed and I find them to have the most incredible temperaments ever, and so very loving. They absolutely DO NOT have any behavorial issues! Most vets truly know nothing about breeding. Most vets do not breed animals at all. The few that I have worked with that do breed, also understand, and would never make a statement like that. One of my vets works with the TNR programs and many of the tiny babies are taken from their mothers and all of the vet techs help to bottle. THEY DO NOT HAVE BEHAVIORIAL ISSUES!!!!!!! They turn out to be very well balanced and loving kittens that do not have to be returned to the wild, but can be found loving pet homes. If you have come to this forum for knowledge, then when given, accept that it is from a list of very knowledgeable breeders that DO know what they are talking about. Not one lousy remark, your vet is making! And if you so wish to believe his every word, then we do not need to hear about it anymore, as you seem to only want to believe what he is saying, not that of which breeders with years of experience are saying, which is your perogative!
